Shani is considered to be the strongest malefic and a stern teacher who represents patience, effort, endeavour, and endurance. A special Saturn idol made of iron is made and is worshipped and is finally donated. Shanivar (Saturday) is dedicated to Shani Devta (Saturn). The Saturday vrat story keeps away all the hurdles and misfortunes. Black flowers, black sesame seeds (til), Horse bean (Black urada) and black clothes are used for worship.

Recommendations: Wear black clothes on this day. Avoid salt. A single meal, that too in the evening.
