Pooja Ritual or prayer ritual is an integral part of Vedic tradition. Puja ritual is worship of a deity through a series of steps. Prayer/pooja rituals can be defined as Mantra, Discourse, Aarti, Bhajan, Stotra and Yagya. It is the act of showing reverence to a god, or aspect of the divine. Pooja rituals involve invocations, prayers, songs, and mantras. An essential part of puja ritual is making a spiritual connection with the divine. Several items including water, flowers and other puja items are offered to the divine during puja rituals.
